Message from Coach Trevor:

I am very excited for the opportunity to coach this program. Having coached every level from U9 to Jr hockey in the South Okanagan over the past 14 yrs. I am fully aware of the wealth of talented hockey players in our area. I can’t wait to work with these athletes and help take this program to the next level.

What do I look for in a player? I look for players who have an extreme amount of work ethic, great attitude, and a team first mentality. I look for players who understand how to play the game, players who apply second effort automatically, and players who are very hard to play against.

As for my style and what to expect. I am demanding but fair, fun but serious, and very competitive(in a good way). I am very committed to building strong, well developed hockey players who want to be a part of a team that respects and pushes each other on and off the ice to be the best version of themselves. I work very hard at the start of the season building what I call the “core foundation” of a team, something you will have to experience to find out what I mean (everything else we learn will build on this very important beginning). For the remainder of the first half of the season my assistant(s) coach(s) and I will systematically add our tactical layers above the core foundation. The second half is focused on execution of our tactics and modification. Everything we do is designed and directed towards our ultimate goal of winning the league. This is a brief description of what to expect and will be laid out in full once the season starts.

If you feel that you are a player that will grow and excel in our program then I look forward to seeing you at the spring ID camp on May 2-4th in Osoyoos.

It’s time to U-Knight the south.

Trevor Aubie.
